Well, this is probably by no means a novel suggestion, so let me know if there is already a thread out their for this.
I personally love playing Vanila Minecraft without spawning any items. I love the satisfaction of knowing i created or collected every item. I also use a single player world so my creations would always be safe. However, this also means that if I ever want to build something with friends, I will have to start all over in a multiplayer server.
My suggestion is this.
Could a method of creating a multiplayer version of a singleplayer world and visa verse be created. This would be useful for allowing friends to check out and help out on our single player worlds.
I have no idea of the feasibility of this suggestion, so those of you versed in the Minecraft code, and others, feel free to share your thoughts!
yes its possible if you are the one hosting the server or if you give your friends the save and they host it. all they would have to do is make the world for the server your world and then if you want the changes saved then overide the single player world with the smp world. if you have any more questions just PM me. hope this helps bye.
Solution: Make a whitelisted server and don't use /give commands.
Sorry if I wasn't clear. I want to take my long running single player world and be able to turn it into a Multiplayer world and then visa versa so I can bring friends to help me out on my world.
u can try creating a small hamachi server for u and your freinds if u cant understand a bukkit server, and/or make your singleplayer map/world downloadable through a variety of media tools, go search and u will find :happy.gif: good luck =D
Hey , the yogscast have downloaded tons of custom maps ( that are obviusly made for and at Single player ) , and they just turn those same maps into Multiplayer
Do you think they ask the map creator to recreate the map all over again at their private server? Hell no! , Just copy a singleplayer file into the multiplayer file.
