This wouldn't really add anything to the game for purposes, but I think this idea would make SMP parties INSANELY fun, and make some nice decorations around your home.
The idea: Rave light block. Yes. I just suggested or resuggested it. Sue me. It's because of my wholehearted love for techno/rave.
The way this would be crafted is like this:
The is an empty spot, the leaves, flowers, and water are dyes, and the sponge is a glowstone block.
The colors would move around the faces of the blocks, and colored light will change colors and move around.
This might be laggy and probably unneeded, but SMP's I know have parties a LOT. We make rave lights with rapid pulsars and stuff, but it looks ugly and isn't enough. Some way to have colored light would be AWESOME and extremely entertaining for SMP parties and general household decoration.
It's like bookshelves. What's the point besides decor?
And when you destroy these, you get all 4 dyes and a random 2-4 of glowstone dust.
Like i said. The only point would be decor and lighting, but think about bookshelves, placeable leaf blocks, and dead shrubs. They don't do anything and are just there. This does a little bit of something, but it isn't much. And glowstone should have something more you can do with it, anyhow. It's in the nether, so I'm sure it would be naturally hot, which would allow the colors to flow through the block.
Woo! Start the party! Woo! Party all night long! Wooooo! ...yah.
Heres an idea: Its Redstone activated. Powered on: Yay happy raving time. Powered off: It looks like... A powered off rave block. Idk.
I think pistons would be better for turning it "on" and "off". Then it can ahve a more general use anywhere around the house, such as a crystal ball, one of these on top of a fence post.
They would make great chandeliers and look good in fountains too.

I don't think it's too modern, the knowledge of dyes melting and flowing through a block causing light changes is pretty simple knowledge.
I hope you understand. :smile.gif:
