This is my idea for the Unused item: Quiver. This can be useful if it is created. I think it should hold more than 64 arrows or it will be useable for about 300 times. Here is the crafting table I made. The chest is so it can hold more arrows. The Beginning Idea: 2nd Idea: 3rd Idea:
I pledge alliegance to the Great Alliance of the Medieval European Nations, with my sword, and my shield, to forever use my blade with great moral responsibilities, and to serve in all of my king's wars and protect the Great Kingdom.
I'd prefer it how you have it, minus the chest and arrows. The leather should be all you need. I do think the quiver should hold 2 stacks worth of arrows and never break. But you can't fire a bow without having one.

We are going to have the new charge system, so I agree with Bad. This makes it so that you HAVE to have it with you at all times, but you won't waste it in a matter of seconds.

I disagree with the need for such an item. You don't need a quiver to fire a bow – you're simply limited by the arrows you can carry. In Minecraft, you can carry absurd amounts of stuff without any sort of container. I've seen suggestions to reduce carrying capacity without a backpack, but letting you carry countless tons of stone but requiring a quiver to use a bow is arbitrary and inconsistent. In addition, greater arrow capacity is unnecessary. In the unlikely event you need more than one stack of arrows, you can fill your inventory to your heart's content. Fill up with arrows, and you can fire three arrows a second and it'll still take you over ten minutes to run out.
The idea of the Quiver was dropped because we can hold tons of arrows in our inventory already. If you want something that is made especially for arrows, maybe this recipe:
[iron] [arrow] [iron]
[leather] [dispenser] [leather]
[leather] [diamond] [leather]
The leather is the bag, the iron for the rim, the dispenser because... idk, it shoots arrows, and the diamond for rarity. Maybe it could hold 3 stacks or something.
A second idea could be that you make the quiver like it is in the OP, then you craft the bow with the quiver to make the Bow & Quiver, like the flint & steel. The bow & quiver could hold its own supply of arrows, but has durability of 800 or something like that.
Hope you like my ideas.

I'm very responsible, when ever something goes wrong they always say I'm responsible.
Last one went well, grow this one too!! HAHAHAHA!!!
I like the first idea. However, you can remove the arrow and have the empty quiver. On the character, it would show a 4x4x16 block, and then it adds about 4 new slots to the inventory screen, for ammo. It could also have it to store 200 arrows in a stack. There would be four points of arrows popping out, so then for each of the slots occupied, one would pop up. And the bow would take the arrows from the quiver first.

Why diamonds?
To make them rare.
