Craftable "Gloves" : that would give you the ability to shoot fireballs ( Can do the same exact damage as bows but just something else to fit a players personal play style ). you could also make ones that shoot let's say ice that would slow the mob a tiny bit and deal half the damage ect. The spells can be powered by red stone, one red stone per cast ( just like arrows)
You could also have a "glove" that would basically by the same damage as swords but you walk up and punch the mob it could have a little spell animation of let's say some spell effect going off . Yet again pretty much the same as a sword but just another thing to fit a players personal preference play style.
It was a random thought I had to add more versatility "combat" to the game without breaking and making the other weapons un-needed. You could chose to be a knight or caster but in reality deal the same amount of damage without making one more powerful than the other. I'm sure this can be improved many ways but like I said a random idea.

Wait, what? Why would putting on gloves let you cast spells? Spells don't even fit in the game, it's under the category of "Obvious Magic."

...so it's just a normal punch but with a little effect? What for? Do we really need that? It doesn't add anything to the game.

But why couldn't we be both? What if I want to use swords and cast magic? Not that magic of this type will ever be implemented into the game, of course.

There used to be a picture of my main characters here. It's out of date and I can't be bothered to update it. Truly a shame.
Lance, Chris, Tallix, Zelek, Regon, Andire. Information about them can be found on my profile (WIP)
Minecraftia, the land of magic gloves made of ordinary metals and gems!
Makes sense if you don't think about it.
The main question people should ask about their own ideas for MineCraft is whether or not it aggitates the small sliver of a knife that MineCraft has to be made on. Not going to far off from its current path, moving only forward. This suggestion makes MineCraft fall off the edge instantly.
