I only have a small suggestion. I'd like it if when i put a lava bucket in the furnace it doesn't destroy my bucket. I want it to return the empty bucket.
I'm not sure if notch purposely made it so that it does this, but if he did he could possibly make lava smelt slightly less in return for getting your bucket back.

This was done on purpose, but is still something that I think might need a change. If you are already deep enough to get lava, you can probably get 3 more to make up for the lost bucket. If you wanted the nerfed to get the bucket back, I've always thought it should smelt for 64, because that's a full stack, and makes more sense than 100.
