Hm. I am new to the forums and don't know if this has ever been suggested. So don't whine about it, if it is.
Okay so, I was thinking, I want to start fresh, so I did, I completely wiped my Minecraft Data, and started new. I wanted to do things way more organized, and an Idea hit me: What if Notch could add like an actual list where you can write things. Now, there are several ways of doing this.
It could either be done this way:
Create a Craftable item that is placeable on walls. It could take up 2 spaces. Horizontally, or Vertically. Doesn't matter. You can right click it, and it opens your own organized, "To do List" type thing. It could have things like such. 'Day 1: --" "Day 2: --" "Day 3: --" Etc. You can insert you own Text and type things down. Now, here's the cool part, at the start of each day, it will remind you (possibly on the top right of the screen) what your Goal for the day is. Maybe even, it could be a dropdown list that comes out from the top right of your screen for... lets say... 30 seconds? You may add up to 5 Goals per day. At the end of the day, your goals get reset. You can always go to your crafted Goal-List and check previous dated goals.
Or you can do it this way:
Your start off with a item in your invy. If your Invy is full, it will go directly to a Chest. If not, then... err... Idk. Think up something to do with it Notch. Anyways, it's a item that you can just go in and type whatever Goals you want. This is a more simplified way of it. You just type what goals you want, and when your done you just close it. If you forget to do your goals. Oh Well. That's too bad. It is completely based on you. No reminders. Whether you do it or not is your problem. The point is, you have something there to look at, and to jot things down. It could be sort of like a notepad. (That goes into another Idea, so I won't elaborate on it).
OR, we can do it this way, my favorite way:
Notch can create a Craftable item that is placeable on your wall. (Similar to the first Idea) When you right click it, it opens a Pre-Set To-Do-List. It is LOADED with different just pages and pages of pre-set Goals.
Ex. Selected --> [x] [x] Craft and Place 3 Work Benches. [x] Chop down 3 Trees before nightfall. [x] Build a 10 by 10 (10x10) House made out of Stone. [x] Place 3 Paintings on in your home. (On any Wooden Surface)
There can be hundreds and hundreds of pre-set goals created by Mojang.
Etc. Etc. You get the point. Each Goal can have it's own cool little name, like 'Mr Tree Chopper'. The list gets reset at the beginning of each new day, or when the Music starts playing for Daylight or the exact time the following day prior to when you enabled the Goal. Each time you complete a Goal (Achievement) whatever you wish to consider it, it will notify you at the top right of the screen. Now, there can be a page aside of the goals that lets you know which ones you have completed, and how many times.
Ex.
Mr Tree Chopper: [Faded Text:]Chop down 10 trees in one day. Completed: x4
To enable a goal, you simply Check the Box that is next to each one. Or [x] it out, or whatever.
So yeah guys, that's about it. The Thread is a bit shaky, but it was just so you can get the idea flowing through your heads. Let me know what you think in the Comments. Thanks. :biggrin.gif:
Search for mods that allow writing in books (in minecraft of course, but real-life books are good too :3).
seriously you're blind. look at the top of the suggestions and the pinned threads. There is one titled "saying "there is a mod for that" is a warnable offense"
Or you could just remember your goals and/or write them on a piece of paper instead of including them in game
Yes, but that is no fun. Wheres the spirit? D; I just thought it would be cool to have our own little organized daily things. (If we want) And not wander around aimlessly for days doing absolutely nothing.
There is a mod by kingbdogz that does that and more. If you want to see it in use watch PaperBatVG's Minecraft Survival series (http://www.youtube.com/user/PaperBatVG). But it is not released to the public yet.
Signs are very limited and not that special, and my ideas go very deep into details.

Please, follow the forum rules. "There is a Mod for that" Is a warnable offense, and it is very annoying. Yeah, I may be new to the MC forums, but god damn, use the formats.
First, to everyone who said use a mod, thats against the rules.
Second, these ideas have been said before. I'll try and get links but I'm on my phone so it isn't easy. Not whining, just saying being new does not excuse you from reading and following forum rules.
Call me a mod wannabe (cause I do wannabe a mod :tongue.gif:), call me what you will.
Finally, I like the idea of books or whatever to write in. Just not preset mini goals.

Yes, thats true, but it tends to happen, and then you get bored, then you have no clue what your doing, then you probably get lost, then you get mad, then you might die. Hm.. Yeah, sounds really fun actually... BUT STILL O:< That's not the point. :C This, can help people be more organized and get things done quicker.
Exactly. Thats the charm of a sandbox game. It's as fun as you make it.
