I have a wish for an easy-to-use GUI that would allow players to easily chage which mods they are using. The idea would work similarly to the Texture Pack folder. The player would save all their modded .minecraft files to the "Mods" folder, and then a GUI in the launcher would allow him/her to select which .minecraft file to use. It would also allow for changes between mods without having to dig around in Windows Explorer, or for Apple users, Finder. This would also be a first step towards full mod support for Minecraft. It would be simple to code, and would also earn a great deal of goodwill from the modding community.
It would just be easier to base it off the current texture pack selector.
What it does, is that instead of reading the files from the .jar, it reads the files from the .zip. People could package their mod, with the modded class files, and when you select it, it will bind those current files with the original files.

I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works

I like this idea, and also think it would be MUCH easier this way.

I think that's exactly what he meant...
Cool! So I can choose from a list of mods so that I can run whatever combination I so choose? In whatever combination? This looks interesting!
