well my idea is that in real life coal turns to diamonds with pressure and time, and minecraft should have something like this effect. It should happen naturally, with a number of blocks compressing the coal, like under a mountain, and it should also happen artificially, by surrounding a coal ore block with 6 pistons. Now you ask: How do I get a coal ore block in vanilla minecraft? there should also be an added coal block. the recipe should be:
The green wool stands for a slimeball.
then you put this in-between 6 pistons, and wait for the time amount decided by my poll, and you have a diamond ore! this could be used to make diamond factorys at the surface. the 6 pistons should be configured so that tey ar on all sides of the coal block and THEY SHOULD BE POWERED. is this a good post for the fact that its my first? :biggrin.gif: please comment and review!
No because coal is worth nothing and diamonds are worth so much that these would just make the game no fun and rune the whole fact about how you have to Find diamonds they are not suppose to be just something that you "create" and this has been posted several times so please next time don't waste your time and use the "search" bar.
Well, it's slightly more balanced than any other diamond recipes. Needing Mossy Cobblestone makes so you can only get about 10-20 per dungeon found and excavated.
Now that I think about it it's still OP. More balanced than most, but still OP. There should never be a way to manufacture diamonds, as that is pretty much the last hard part of the game that is left. And even that is fairly easy.

Because coal and charcoal are the same thing, but with different names, and slimeballs and charcoal are renewable resources, this would make diamonds an almost-renewable product.
Didn't i say it takes moss stone and slime balls? They are quite rare...
but maybe your right.
Only one thing: Please take the poll!
:tongue.gif:
You didn't say moss stone. It was on the recipe, but the mossy and normal cobblestone on these forums are too small to easily distinguish at first glance.
But with enough time one could make a slime farm and get plenty of slime balls.

There used to be a picture of my main characters here. It's out of date and I can't be bothered to update it. Truly a shame.
Lance, Chris, Tallix, Zelek, Regon, Andire. Information about them can be found on my profile (WIP)

Add an option to the poll question about length that says: "I didn't like the idea." Otherwise people who voted horrible on the other question has to give a length on that question, leading to false results.

No it is not. I just went on a short mining trip and I have more than enough to mass produce about 20 Diamonds. And that is all at once. I could easily make them one at a time and save a tone of Iron on pistons.

I understand that we can create diamonds and all but doesn't that require high temperatures and a lot of pressure. Anyways, I don't think being able to make diamonds is a good idea seeing as that diamonds are more of a status symbol than anything.

Now I'm definitely going to say no.

If you looked closely in the village screenshot, some of the buildings contained mossy cobblestone.
