I'm new to the Minecraft world and had an idea after playing it for a few days.
Basic idea:
When first generating a world, you can have the option to generate a world that is filled with what would be expansive post-apocalyptic cities, towns, and villages. Maybe there could be sliders where you can adjust the amount of each.
The idea is that you can deconstruct or redevelop something other than a nature landscape.
Definitely. This would be extremely hard to code, and if Notch is ever going to give us any kind of control over world generation, I would rather be able to subtly tweak the current options rather than completely overhaul the generation code.

Coming in 1.8 with NPC villages. Don't post stuff that is coming in the next update. Since your'e new though I won't report this.
This thread has nothing to do with anything in 1.8. It may have said city, but it's talking about alternate world generation, not NPC villages.

It would be a nice mod.
I did see the great wall mod but it's nowhere near what I'm thinking.
I just envisioned rummaging through abandoned cities for newly created inventory items.
