I think you see the point of my suggestion, not a major game overhaul, just a small little add-on that will make it better. plus i think it's already been tweeted that potions may be coming to 1.8 (as it is the adventure update) so i'm waiting to see if the Notch-approved system is any similar to mine
Thanks so much for all of your support! I never thought my ideas would get this popular, what with all the Notch-please-implement kind of stuff.
First of all, thanks you everyone for you potion suggestions, I am taking them all into account and some of them get put in the main post.
Secondly, I really like the alchemy station idea, I just think having a separate workbench would make this seem too distant and inaccessible, I want people to just go, "hey, I'm going mining for a while. I should probably stock up with strength and light potions," and then skit skat skoodle doot they've whisked up a few potions along with a couple of iron picks.
I just thought of this but an additional effect for the lightweight potion could be that it eliminates fall damage up to a certain height say 15 blocks or so. Seems fitting with being able to jump higher.
