I submit that it lasts for only one day, but is extremely rough with the monsters. On top of that, fog, heat lightning, and random patches of the ground will be turned into flaming netherrack.
I also submit, that the only chance you ever get of activating this will be by finding some type of seal in a random dungeon. Like a door shaped like a creeper face or something like that. And the only way to open it is through some weird ritual of some kind like donating 20 bones or something along those lines. Then the door opens and reveals a type of count-down until the day all this happens. After it ends, you return to the door and find walls lined with chests full of awesome stuff.
These doors could appear in several dungeons making the doomsday an event the player will not only be warned for, but also rewarded for.
I didn't think this was good for Doomsday so I thought it might be good for something else so I said this:
Actually, what if you put the items required in and you have to hold off against a few wave of enemies? The harder they are, the better the reward. The harder they are, the more the entry cost is. The door opens, you do to a separate dimension or something, and you have to hold off. Once you finish, the door in the arena place opens and you come back, except there are a bunch of chests with your reward.
You may find random dungeons and those dungeons might have that door. Pay the entry cost and teleport you to an arena made of bedrock where monsters may spawn in holes that are out of reach. You have to defend as long as you can, and when you finish, the door will open up back to where you came and there will be reward chests with anywhere from decent items, to really good ones depending on the difficulty of the dungeon.
If you die, the door closes and you will lose all your items.

and when the waves are depleted, the bedrock in front of the portal dissapears
It's good, I feel there needs to be more of survival and combat part to the game.
True there needs to be more survival and more combat. But it should be done in a more unique way, not as a "Super Hardcore Dungeon Deathmatch Bonus Arena Challenge" type room which this seems to be. There are tons of games that say "Wan't more combat? Go to the arena and fight wave after wave of the same enemies."
We just need more hostile mobs with unique combat strategies.

This is a different version of what regular dungeons are.

Looks good but not much space.
Granted I would like to see stuff like this added and would be quite an awsome mod as well.
Also stop bumping your thread. Its against the rules.
Minecraft is supposed to have better combat now.
