Ok, so my new idea for a game mode is quite simple. Players are split up into two teams. Red vs Blue if you like, or something along the lines of that. Anyway, once players join the game, they are spawned into a large room, ceilings, walls, and ground made of bedrock. Except on the ground there are two plots, they can be any size from a simple three by three square or a grand 500 by 500 square. It does not matter. This plot is made of dirt but has several crates on it containing whatever items are spawned into it (generally wood, sand, coal, etc) and stretches down until it reaches a set distance, lets say 100 squares. In between the two plots, there is to be bedrock, so there cannot be any sabatoge or greifing. Dividing the two plots is a one block thick layer of bedrock, stretching from end to end. The players can dig down deep into their plots where there is to be stone, gravel, ores, the usual. The teams would proceed to build a castle fortress in a set amount of time while building weapons and other defenses to help them defend from the other team. Once the time limit is reached, the bedrock dividing the two fortresses is removed, and a great battle insues. The players must eliminate the other team's members in order to win the match. A simple diagram below.

Now im not a very good artist with these blocks, but i think you just about get the jist of the entire game. I appreciate your thoughts, comments, and feedback.
i'd play it, but personally i think that the bedrock should either be eliminated entirely or have large holes in it. above ground shouldnt be the only way to get into a castle. underground should be fair game too...
i understand what you mean by that, but my largest problem with that is griefing. it would only take one idiot to dig a tunnel fill it with tnt then blow up half of the players before the game even started. so it would just basically become griefer wars. i dont know...but the bedrock seems the only logical method for this. maybe someone else has a better idea?
Also, the concept isn't very ground breaking. It's not a bad idea, but to imagine you're the only person who could possibly come up with it is extremely egotistical. and wrong.
