What if Minecraft had a completely submerged realm? I have got a few ideas to go with it. You would first have to make a fishing rod and catch a raw fish. If you were to put that raw fish in the crafting place it would convert out to three fish scales. You can make armor from these fish scales! But it is about as strong as leather, but here is the catch. It takes more time to drown in water! Here is a list showing how good each piece of armor is:
1 bubble or heart gets removed every second while being underwater without fish scale armor. 1H/BP means 1 heart / bubble per however many seconds.
Add up the decimal amounts for each piece of armor to see the armor sets. If you had all pieces of armor when underwater all ten bubbles would deplete in 22.5 seconds! Without any of the armor it would be 10 seconds.
Once you get all your fish scale armor you need to get Lapis Lazuli Blocks. You know how to get those. Go underwater and form a portal shaped structure there. Right click it with your fish rod and it becomes a portal! Enter the portal and you are in Aquariuos! You have to be wearing a full set of fish scale armor while doing this or it won't work.
In Aquariuos you will never drown as long as you keep your fish scale armor on. It is easier to see in than in the regular world ( I mean it is hard to see in water without any light but it is easy here). Caves do spawn here and it often has a lot of hills. 1 step in this place is 2 steps in the regular world. Like in The Nether there is no night or day and you CAN'T set down a bed because you are underwater. When you take a bucket and select ANYTHING you will get salt water in the bucket. If you put the bucket in a furnace you will keep the bucket and get salt ( I will talk about salt later). There is no such thing as no water in Aquariuos. If you place down a block in an enclosed place and remove that block there will be water. Here are a categories for you:
Mobs:
Squids and fish don't need explaining. ( fish are going to be part of the 1.8 update)
Leeches:
Look like snakes but have a bigger head. They have no eyes but they do glow because of lights placed were there eyes should go. The end of there head is the mouth which is completely round, large, and has very sharp teeth; because of their mouth being large and round they are slightly cone shaped. They have large fins on the sides and bottom of their body with a large tail on their back. They are also grey with dark gray lines that segment them like a worm and about 4 blocks long and 1 in width. They will swim towards the player fast but once they see their target they will not turn unless they are in back in of the player, then they will make a slow turn and target again. They have 8 health and their attack does 6 damage. They have an 80% of dropping a leach and a 20% of dropping an Aquereaz Gem. They spawn in the dark and they are about average on how often you see one.
Omega Leech:
This guy is like a boss and only appears when you have been in Aquariuos for more than 10 minutes and he will continue to appear RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE PLAYER TO SCARE YOU, HE WILL ROCKET OUT OF THE GROUND! He acts the same as a regular Leech it is just that he can smash threw sand, coral, and anything that doesn't spawn naturally. He also does 7 damage and has 16 hearts. Another thing that makes him different from regular leeches is he is 9 blocks long and 2 blocks high. When you kill him he has a 45% of dropping 16 Aquereaz Gems a 45% of dropping 8 Buryovexes and a 10% of dropping a big leech.
Lobster:
They probably about only a block long and a 1/4 of a block wide. When coming across you they will walk at the regular average speed and try to snip you. They do 2 damage and have 3 health. They spawn anywhere but they don't spawn often. They always drop lobster which heals 21/2 heart when eaten raw and 6 when cooked.
Blocks:
No explaining is needed on Stone, Sand, and Sandstone.
Salt Rocks:
These are about as rare as DIAMOND! Though all it does is make the water it is in salt water. Though only for a 12 block radius. You can also make it by doing nine by nine salt. Salt can make raw fish revive 3 hearts and cooked 4 1/2 when placed on in crafting. When Salt is dropped it increases the chances of thunderstorms and hostile mobs to spawn for the next 3 DAYS! Bad luck to drop salt ain't it? Some people may use this to there advantage so it will only work once in the span of those 3 days. The chance of thunderstorms is 33% more though and the same for hostile mobs. It also increases the chance of Creepers to be hit by lightning by 40%. Now you have a chance to fight some super creepers!
Buryovexes:
These blocks give you the ability to swim in the same water they are in without drowning! They work for a 20 block radius. They are mostly bluish white. You can also make tools with these blocks. These new tools work at a regular pace on blocks underwater. No more getting trapped under ice or drowning trying to make your underwater home. It is about as rare as gold.
Aquereaz:
These blocks glow about as much as torches! Only underwater though. They mostly are a grayish teal color. When broken it becomes four Aquereaz Gems which can be made back into Aquereaz Blocks. When put in a furnace it will become Refined Aquereaz. It can now glow on land. When put in water though it doesn't glow, but it explodes! In 2 seconds it will explode, TNT exploding in 4. It will explode all underwater and above water. This is about as rare as iron.
Sludgestone:
This block has nothing interesting... Unless you put in a furnace! (You have to put a bucket in the output too, this is one of the only blocks that you have to put something there) It will become Oxyslogen (I just call it sludge), A liquid which is a lot like water, but it flows slower, you swim about at 2/3 the speed, it is greenish and everything is a green tint when you are under it all ( The block itself is dark green), and you can breath when you go in it! Sludge goes as far as lava.
Plant and Plant like stuff:
Coral:
Coral comes in assorted colors and will give a die of that color. There is also special coral called glow coral. When breaking down this coral you get glow die which is white but glows! You can also mix it with those dies to make them glow!
Is this all related to a type of underwater realm or is some of this separate?

I think you should re-name this to either a new underwater realm, or the underwater overhaul. Otherwise, people will flame it for being a wish list.

I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works
this sounds great but their are 3 worlds nether surface and aether. i cant see were a water world whould fit in. maybe you could make it a sub dimention only found in portal in aether

There is no aether world in vanilla minecraft, last time I checked.

Well, if you are reffering to the sky-dimension Notch is adding, that is MUCH different from the Aether, from what I've heard. Apparently, it is entered at night during your dreams. Not by making a portal. That's what I've read. But yes, this would be good. Maybe soul sand portal, and then pour water on it?

WOOT! MORE SHOOTY STUFF!
If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens. (Griefing is an art. And a lot of dead creepers.)
Oh, forgot to say I will post other ideas every couple days such as Wax Trees and Motors.
You basically just made me lose all hope in this thread.
