Read the subtitle, you get backstory and such. Thats covered, so now ideas.
One: The Fireplace.
Its much built makeshiftly, theres probably another thread saying to do something like this, but oh well. An actual fireplace would go much in the way of showoffy awesomeness. HEres a recipe:
Three things about this.
First, assume red wool is actually a magically transformed version of netherrack.
Second, assume every white space (this goes for this whole page, as i think minecraft should have a higher level of customizability) is a spot where you can put any, ANY block you want save wood (for fireplace only, fire and such) and water/lava, of course(for all), and get a fireplace that is the same size and same shape and all, only different textures. Dont say its hard to program, i know programming and all youd have to do is set up a function and the object itself, with a texture that is a variable decided on by the block used to make it. Simple function in Javascript, but i dont know about Java though.
Three: The seeds are meant to be blank spaces that arent in the recipe.
Two: Fire Jet.
Flint and steel and stone. Or just put a flint in steel in a dispenser and get the same thing. Thatd be the best way to do it.
Three: Cannon.
Make an actual cannon block that doesnt use tnt. Only gunpowder. No more needs be said.
Four: Customizability increase.
As i said before, I believe that minecraft should be more customizable. I dont know if this is as easy in Java itself, but in Javascript, you could set up a simple function that holds a variable. The variable's value is decided by the building material. So, you could make glass doors, obsidian-based beds, glowstone stairs (Say that that wouldnt be awesome.), or even a sand slab. Gentle slopes from the sea floor to the beach? Oh yeah.
This would not apply to everything, only certain things like doors, slabs, stairs, and beds bases, as well as buttons and pressure plates and maybe fences.
Five: Decoration.
Im not saying they should have this any time soon, im saying that maybe after 1.8 they could have this as the final update before full release. 1.9 update could have a ton of furniture and such, including fireplaces that could make your house look nicer.
Chairs, definitely.
Bars (the table-like things, not the beer bars) would be nice too.
Another cool thingd be dressers, where you could maybe store skins and change them in game at will, although your normal skin (mine is king arthur, monty python style) would be returned to after you leave the game.
A lot of people are asking for display cases, thatd be awesome.
Tables, of course.
Fences made specifically for staircases, like bannisters.
And lets not forget statues. Make a statue, which would start like a monolith. You attack it with a pickaxe and a menu would appear asking you what to change it to. It could be Notch, Jeb, A creeper, a skeleton, or you. Or customizable, although that would be difficult and waste space as well as be very tricky and likely ugly with only pixels, and large ones at that.
So many others. If you have an idea, post it here, and ill consider putting it up.
Mod Edit: Locked due to having multiple ideas in one thread
This thread == Wishlist
Wishlists != Acceptable
This thread != The Rules.
Its not a wishlist, its a list of ideas that i personally think would improve minecraft (or at least add some more lines to the code. Minecraft is hard to make better, you know.) and so on. I have a lot of ideas, and if i never say them the voices get angry with me. When the voices are angry bad things happen... :unsure.gif:
But its not a wishlist, i dont think so. If you can get a moderator/5 people to agree with you, then i will take it off immediately. If not, 1st Amendment. Im in the USA, i can speak. (Sorry if some of you dont live in the US, but thats my excuse.) I will keep it up if you dont, and anyways itll be buried in 5 minutes. I know. I have 5 threads that i started, same happened to each.
I also dont see that in the rules. Could you link it to me?

[quote=Badgerz]You have to keep in mind that people are stupid.
[quote=Catelite]Just because you don't understand how something works, doesn't make it broken or pointless. >_<
