I would like it if you could shut down the lights on a glowstone with redstone
That would be the best if Notch would throw that in the 1.8 update.
But when i think about it if you could shut off the lights. the monsters could still spawn.
Then Notch would just have to make it so that mobs dont spawn near glowstone.

I agree that you should be able to control light, without having to use the dim lights of red stone torches. I think that adding a light bulb would help with the situation.
Or just make a block similar to what is in the BTW mod.
But I would rather have notch work on more productive things than something that can already be done with pistons.

Yeah but it would be so much easier to just turn it off and on with redstone and people that
dont know anything about redstone could do this
Uhmmmm...contradict much?
But in all seriousness, linking a piston to glowstone requires the same amount of redstone competence as your suggestion.

like everyone says here, just use a piston. You can make retractable lights that, for all intensive purposes, shut off and on.
