while looking at the endermen mobs and remembering swampy bogbeard from the yogscast i suddenly had the idea of wildmen! people who look like the player but if you get too close to their land they try to kill you. they can craft stuff and punch down trees like the player does to get wood but they cannot use furnaces or mine any ore apart from coal. they spawn during the day and are passive untill attacked or you intrude their territory. easy signs of a wildman include houses made of wood and dirt that you did not build yourself and torches placed down in an area you havent been to before. most wildmen have leather armor and weild a sword. they drop their weapons and armor and also their inventory. they naturally attack every creature nearby them. giving them a limited resource like iron or coal can put them in the allied status. knowing how coal works charcoal could probably get them to ally you. unlike slendermen the wildmen will stay neutral with a player at all times so long as the player doesnt attack them or go too close to their territory before giving them any resources. wildmen can indeed harvest saplings and plant them and also wheat and sugarcane. giving a wildman a bookshelf block will generate a random name for them and allow you to go near their territory without angering them. at night wildmen will place down torches and often hide in their homes except for wildmen soldiers. wildmen soldiers are wildmen with armor and swords. signs of a wildmens town include a relatively large gathering of wood and dirt houses or wildmen with armor and swords standing outside a wooden wall. during thinderstorms the wildmen will become more agressive to the point of attacking the player should the player pass by them. allied wildmen will not attack the player but instead make whimpering noises like allied wolves on low health and hide in a corner. wildmen will not outright kill sheep. on rare occasions a wildman given a bookshelf block and a limited resource block like iron will become a wildman elite. wildmen elites do more damage and have better armor and also allied status with the player.
the normal wildmen will look like they are wearing vines. wildmen soldiers will wear lether armor and have a stone sword. wildmen elite will wear iron armor and have an iron sword. they will look noticeably different from any and all players.
