Many people (including me) share a computer with more than one person that plays Minecraft and plays on separate worlds. Now I know that when my sister plays on my world, it annoys me incredibly if she messes something up or does anything really. Recently I thought of having an option to put a password onto a world that only you would know so that only you could access the world unless you gave the password to someone else. I know that this could be a great help to many people that share computers with other Minecrafters.

I disagree!
However i do like some sort of chocolate food/candy with milk.
I think it is your responsibility to keep a world safe. Is it really that hard to move it to another folder to keep it safe? Also, having separate user accounts on your pc solves the issue as well.

I realize that there are many other ways to protect your worlds and I do have multiple back-ups of my world and my sister's never done anything that wasn't easily fixable/unbroken with a roll back, however I know there are plenty of people who honestly have no clue in hell how to do simple stuff like back ups and things of the like and feel like this would be a simple and elegant solution to something that bothers quite a few people.

As I said, Mojang is not responsible for the security of your worlds. There are guides and resources that explain how to back up your world saves, it is the player's perogative to use said guides to secure their worlds.
I never go back to topic so mail me to quote please.

Te thing with that is everytime you edit the world you need ti copy it.
create a shortcut to %appdata% and then go to the .minecraft/save folder and copypasta where necessary.
Also, this does not STOP the problem, it only redirects it to a bigger problem >_>.
