A Will-o-Wisp is a passive mob found in the Nether. It looks like a small floating brick with a smaller brick on top and an even smaller brick on top of that. The bricks are like blue ad glow. the top two blocks occasionally waver side to side when still and they do it constantly when moving. You can tame them like a wolf using soul sand, and you can even take it out of the nether. You can also dye the wisp different colors, much like wool. You can also put the wisp into your inventory, and if you put it in the helmet slot, two small bricks will appear on the wisp like hands and it will appear that it is holding your head. doing so makes you fall slowly and negate fall damage. If you die,it will lowly hover back to spawn and bring the most important item back with it. Say you died and you had a mx of diamond and iron armor on. It would bring back the diamond piece that gives the most protection points. You can also put it on a tame wolf and it will give the wolf the same effects as you using the wisp in the head slot, except the wisp goes to the wolf's back. If you attack it in its wild state,it will turn bright red and become hostile. Another upside is that they can go under water without drowning, and other things like that they fly and take less than 1 block of space. To attack they lift the mob and then drop them. They will also avoid creepers, like wolves.
I... honestly think that this should ba a MOD, not a addition.
But maybe it could be less helpful? That would be like a super wolf.
Like you could equip it onto your head and it would sit there and be cute, and if you accidently attacked it it would attack you back once.

Well it's meant to have pros and cons, like flight is a pro,but being weak is a con. Besides,it's meant to be stronger than a wolf. You get it from the nether.
I don't know how the game would know what the most valuable item is, but maybe if it could salvage the item you were last holding or something, it might be less overpowering. Also, it probably shouldn't actually radiate light when moving/caught (the wisp itself would look brighter than its surroundings, but it wouldn't light adjacent blocks) to either reduce lag of moving light or keep it from doing too much. Frankly, just having it reduce your fall damage (and maybe give you a "floaty jump") and save the last item you were holding should be enough, though you might want to come up with a more original way of "taming" it, like catching it in a bucket without startling it or something.
EDIT: If you die by some means other than lava, it will stay near your item pile and attack any mobs that approach while waiting for you to return, and maybe it would radiate light at this point so you could find it more easily.
