Here's an idea for useful new kind of door: one that attaches to the bottom of a block rather than the top. That would allow you to hang the door over empty space or over liquids.
You'd be able to use these hanging doors to block boats, provide a gap by the floor for wolves to pass through, and for many other purposes.
Since we already have wood and iron doors we could make these stone, to also provide that cool "Indiana Jones temple" type of door as an aesthetic option, but another substance could work too.
This is actually a great idea. The crafting recipe could be something like
:Spider::wood::Spider:
:::wood:::
:::wood:::
Where is string.
Don't see why we need a new door recipe, all we need is a tweak that changes doors to be placable under blocks as well as over them.

Good point. Making it so if you click under a block, it places them under, and if you click on top of one, it places it on top of it. Plus, I thought that the recipe would be a little weird, as shown by the awkward suggestion. Also, wouldn't placing one hanging door and one ground door fix the Double-Door/Bed glitch?

That is a very good point. Instead of one door just being reversed and open, it would just be reversed and hung from the ceiling. I don't know if that would fix the glitch, but it would be worth a shot. If it does, than we can finally have double doors that don't need an inverter to open.

That's a good point. I'd actually prefer that.

Using slime balls to walk on the sealing and have the ability to open normaly those doors.
