Well, minecraft needs more animals, i really feel that animals should be more diverse, they should spawn in specific biomes and they should drop specific items
There could never possibly be enough unique drops to justify all of those.

Hypothetical: You read a thread in the Suggestions forum. You suddenly realize you've seen the idea before. Maybe it's a duplicate? No. Maybe it's just you? No. Maybe it's been done already? Very likely: Click here if there's a mod for that.
dragons in mountainous regions....perhaps have dragon lairs spawn similarly to dungeons but only in certain, high elevations. if you come near a dragon lair you have to fight off whatever dragons are there. they would be very similar to the ghasts in the nether in behavior. maybe you can steal the dragon's treasures/eggs. maybe eggs would allow you to incubate (as in the aether mod) and hatch a baby dragon which would eventually allow you to ride it.
I never knew that Jirrafes lived in the Sabanna. I thought dargons and space ponies lived there.
Dont try to sound smart and funny, cause you aren't any of both
Giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis) certainly are among the most conspiciuous animals of the African savannas
It is quiet to annoying to receive these kind of replies as if having a wrong spelling would be such a sin, first, english is not my native language, if you were to speak my language i bet my both hands that you would fail at the spelling as well, but the difference is that i wont reduce myself to your lvl and start making stupid jokes about your bad spelling
And well, back to the topic, i should add another animal to the list, horses, their more obvious trait would be the ability to be able to ride them with saddles, they would be controllable
Mhmm. Watch your tongue. Making rash judgments is typically unwise. However, I must note that Jiraffes is spelled with a 'G' and Sabanna is correctly spelled Savannah. However, I do admit that it was impolite of me to do so earlier. A good thing to remember is to right click on misspelled words, should fix them and prevent me from ranting at you. I myself am not the best at speaking other languages. Forgive me for my frivolous folly. On the note of the suggestion, I personally dislike the idea of overloading the game with large quantities of animals. For one, Notch would have to program them all. Don't feel in the least bit concerned? Then imagine how randomly picking some animals could effect the virtual ecosystem. The current system works because all the animals are domesticated types, typically encountered on farms. The fact that they're passive, not neutral, further suggests their non-feral existence. Although there do seem to be a number of prey and predators, understand that the number of drops, as someone previously mentioned, would be painful to behold.
Food (example, monkeys would drop bananas), feathers, leather, horns or shark's teeth (for crafting spike blocks)
1) Notice I said "unique".
2) Remove food, feathers, and leather for not being unique at all (and redundant).
3) Two remaining drops, none given particular use, and still outnumbered by the suggested mobs.
Also, don't get your panties in such a twist over people joking about your spelling. You're on a forum of written communication AND it's on the internet. Get a sense of humor. All you just did was lower yourself.

Harvey, your reply is welcome, i understand your position, i myself act like troll sometime lol, and yeah, i totally ignored autocorrect.
But well, yeah, indeed, it would be incredibly complex to code each animal, but well, since infdev, minecraft's feedback has reached titanic proportions, however, further development has stayed at a lousy rate, even the so desired 1.8 update doesn't quite fill what we should really must be expecting from the game's updates, we have been used to expect cheap updates, so we get all excited with 1.8, ironically the largest updates are adaptations of user created mods, if you really could grasp to see minecraft's true potential you would realize how lazy notch is
Its possible to add all those animals in the list, just take a look at the recently released aether mod, they added at a lot of creatures, and those guys aren;t from mojang nor own a bank account with more than 10,000,000$,
Well, we have paid for a full game, and i feel quite incomplete with the content as i really see the game's true potential, modders have actually achieved more than notch itself when it comes to enhance the beta version, notch is lazy nuff said
Animals wont break the game, yeah, AI will pass through a major overhaul, but god, who else doesnt think AI needs to be updated, the guy who created the millenaire mod could do that, biomes need to be bigger, this is not indev, maps are infinite, why making the biomes so short?
I really think a sea biome should be added, and they should add boats with multiple passenger seats. As hunger will need to be satisfied, you would be forced to fish in other to survive.
Biome Specific dungeons, sea dungeons, dungeons at the top a very tall place, underground dungeons, etc
Honestly, do the things im suggesting could break the game? Of course not, we all know this is what we should really be expecting from minecraft, im not generalizing, im pretty sure no one will disagree with me, and if it does, he would be instantly convinced of the contrary once he sees such content added.
And well, previously i mention that animals should drop specific objects, i didnt mean that every single animal would drop an unique object, now that would break the game, what i mean is that they don't drop misc stuff like zombies
No complaints, other than maybe what would happen about drops.
Giraffes: Passive. Don't really do anything except eat leaves. No drops, make you feel like a bad person for killing them.
Rhinos: Neutral. Don't bother them, they don't bother you. If you do, they'll charge you for a damage of 8 hearts. When killed, they drop either Rhino Hide (can be used to make some good armor) or a Rhino Tusk (can be used to make more basic spikes and some weapons.
Lions: Neutral. If you get to close, they'll attack, but if you be careful when approaching them, then feed them some raw meat, they'll be non hostile, or even friendly. Drop bones.
Gazelles: Passive. They're very fast creatures, and are the deer of their biome. They drop a gazelle steak, the favorite of Lions.
Scorpion: Hostile. They try to stab you with their poisoned tail and snip you with their pincers. Drop poison, which can be used to kill your enemies faster.
Lizard: Passive. They don't really do anything except bask in the sun. May drop a lizard egg, which should be placed out in the sun or a sunlit room.
Monkeys: Passive. Monkeys usually stick up in trees, occasionally throwing a block of dirt at you. Can be given bananas to tame, in which case they'll follow you around and freak out if anything gets near you.
Snakes: Red: Hostile, Green: Neutral. Red snakes are quite deadly predators. They're fast and can bite. Green snakes are neutral, but can drop a snake egg, which will hatch into a pet snake. Like lizards, should be kept in a well lit room. Both drop snakeskin, which, with a lot of them, can make snake hide, which can be used to make a snakehide jacket. Doesn't protect much, just looks cool.
Gorillas: Neutral. Like lions, if you approach in a calm manner, they won't attack you. They also like bananas, and can be befriended. No drops.
Okapi: Passive. They're really rare and pretty. Attacking them yields only guilt, as they have no drops.
Penguins: Passive. Like many other creatures, can be befriended but it yields few benefits other than a cool new pet. They slide around on ice and waddle around.
Seals: Passive. Seals just swim and move around and don't do much, but baby seals can be placed on your head and carried around; baby seals are the cutest.
Polar Bears: Like other predators, they get angry when they get scared. Just act friendly and give it some fish if you want to be on its good side. Drop bear hide, which can be used to make hide jackets and ushankas.
Butterflies: Passive. Flutter around and don't do anything. No drops.
Small Birds: Passive/Friendly. Flutter around and sing! If you find a bird egg, you can hatch it into a pet bird! Aaaah!
Bunnies!: Passive/Friendly: Bunnies hop around and act extra cute. You can pick them up and bring them home, nothing to it!
Bears: Exactly like polar bears, but brown. Drop regular brown bear hide, to make jackets and ushankas.
Deer: Passive. Run around and don't do much. Drop tasty venison.
Sharks: Hostile. They eat you. You may be able to stun one and place it in a glass tank though. Can be used to make super evil traps.
Fishies: Passive. They swim around and drop raw fish when killed.
Seagulls: Passive. Fly around the sea and swarm at raw food dropped near the shore.
Eagles: Passive. Bold and awesome, the eagle soars far overhead, looking down on the player likely thinking 'Ha ha, what a loser. He can't fly.'
I'll add some more later.

especially if the biomes were larger :smile.gif:
