So, this is a fairly simple idea, for those that like the precipitation in minecraft.
Basically, you would have the following configuration:
Replace seeds with anything that rattles really: beans, gravel, sand. What it would do is make a block (or a stick) that the player could use to summon rain. Nothing that grand, I just like the rain and wished I had a way to make it rain more often.
That would be a bit too overpowered because it speeds the growth of wheat for just 8 wood. Maybe if it had a few rarer items involved in the recipe because rain isn't just for looks it has a few uses. Otherwise good idea and what about one for a blizzard :biggrin.gif:
It's a good suggestion. You could possibly make it so that the block creates rain particles underneath it, this way you could make energy grids or slightly cooler waterfalls, gates or... curtains?
Maybe a block that rains when activated in a redstone circuit?
Though to be honest I'd prefer the entire area to rain. More of an atmospheric preference than anything.

Maybe it could be nerfed by making it kill crops if it rains too much? So you couldn't turn it on in a fresh field, going to mine, and return to a full harvest?
Or perhaps have a biome device? A certain item that makes a miniature biome around itself?

Maybe it should have a cool down, killing crops would be kinda bad if you had a lot. If it maybe only rained in 3x3 block radius for each of the block when activated with redstone?

That is a different idea, I wanted the dimmer light, the hum of rain, and the occasional crack of lightning, as I said, it is entirely atmospheric preference.
And in regards to having it incorporate rarer items, why not have cocoa beans inside?

Maybe it should spawn little clouds?
What if you wanted snow in a different biome. But then you could possibly grief with that but I guess you could just place torches :tongue.gif:.

I don't think that would be a very effective grief. :tongue.gif:
beans surrounded by iron ingots?
