Many people seem to agree that Lapis and Redstone (at least, those who don't use it on a daily basis like me) need more uses. Well, why not as a form of decoration? Now I know jewels have been suggested before, but this is a new take on it.
Plunking down a piece of lapis/redstone on the crafting table would wield 2 lapis/redstone jewels. Basically, in a sense, you'd be grinding the redstone powder into gems and cutting the lapis into 2.
You can do 2 things with these jewels. First, you could use them to adorn your armor. Just put any type of armor (except pants, I don't know where the jewels would manage to look good on pants...) on the crafting table, then place either jewel on top of it. No, you can't place more than one jewel at a time, and you can't place jewels on armor that's already been adorned. There would be no difference in the armor, it would just look aesthetically pleasing.
The second thing you could do is make armor out of these jewels. It would be crafted just like any other armor, and yes, you can place jewels on them as well. However, since lapis and redstone jewels are particularly soft, they would be as weak as leather/gold armor (I'm not sure if there's a difference between them, basically it's pretty weak), so again, it would just be there to look pretty.
These new features could add a bit of personalization to the few clothes that we have. And don't say it's useless, because we don't particularly NEED paintings or colored wool either.
I've made a banner if you wish to support, here's the picture and the code:
Redstone jewelry should have some sort of electric feature itself.
Agreed,a thought comes to mind that it charges the player herself/himself,so while wearing the jewelry the player is charged with redstone and any redstone he right-clicks with bear hands will activate, including things like TNT and pistons that require a redstone charge to function.

I'll support if I can punch TNT again.. Oh how i miss.

I like this idea, I hadn't really considered redstone jewelry actually conducting electricity, but this seems like it could really work. Could be useful for opening iron doors, too. May add this to post later.

I'm good at making jewels
If you want me to I can.
If you want to, sure. I'll probably be making my own, but yours would probably be better than mine. Either way, any support is appreciated!
It... It's just not the same...
