This is a fair amount of text, so get ready for a decent read.
Rain is, to many, an annoyance in Minecraft. So, not to be a jerk, what about rain "slabs"? They are not able to be picked up by buckets, but will go away when punched, and after a while, will rot out wood planks. By a while,
I mean about 7-10 minecraft days. They only form on elevated surfaces or in craters. They are 1/2 the size of a block. Hence the word, slab. They would be the same size of slabs. This would add a sense of attendance of houses instead of mining for days on end. (Minecraft days of course) They will fall off if placed near a slope, so adding a slanted roof to a house would benefit from the fact of not having your roof rot. Also, stone roofs would be a benefit to houses too. New ideas are great and will be appreciated. Just leave a comment about what you think of the idea and if you have something to add, just leave a comment about it. I will not update this post but I will reply to some posts in this thread. Thanks for reading this.
Rotting Wood?
Ah, scary. I wouldn't like MY house to rot. That would be bad.
Anyways, no offese, but there isn't anything that you can gain from it. :sad.gif:

There wasn't supposed to be. It was meant for a challenge.
Um. Sort of a bad idea, sorry but I dont want to be on my SMP server and build a really epic house with wood on it, then go away and work on another project and come back to find that the whole place is destroyed.
Oh, very good! Don't listen to the guy above me. I see a lot of future. It should be that with rotting, it only makes it weaker. That way mobs on your roof would fall through it.

That's a really good idea. And maybe it would be easier to break, but you get nothing in return.

You can fix this by making a slanted roof or putting a layer of stone over it.
