We all know the Compass. It point's to were we spawn. But, every night you sleep your spawn changes. So does the Compass. Can we have it OPTIONAL to make it Cardinal Directions or something? Let me know what you guys think! :biggrin.gif:

Maybe I'll make a mod for that or something but not now
even underground, if you use the same texture pack enough then you know which way north is just by looking at cobbel or smoothstone or some other common block. not saying no one should make the mod. just that there isn't much of a need.
You could just use a map, so long as you are within its boundaries it should show your location and from this you can discern quite easily what direction is what.
Also, that option is nearly pointless (unless underground) when you can simply look at the sky: clouds always move north, the sun rises in the east and sets in the west and so does the moon.
Why would you even need cardinal directions? Since Minecraft is flat, it would not help navigation at all, since you could go to the west for 3 hours, and then south would still be the same. Unless you remembered every direction you walked, you could not use the compass for any good.
The only positive thing i can see from it, is for treasure hunts. Like, "Go 20 blocks north from this sign, then 12 blocks to the west"

Herobrine does not exist. He is not in the code anywhere, there is not a faintest mention of a mob like this. Herobrine does not exist. All encounters are hoaxed and are clearly hoaxed. Some are good hoaxes, but still fake.

Edit: Besides, maps already show which direction everything is.
Look at this and this.
The Sun rises in the North! Now these points of data make a beautiful line...
