Ambience is very scary to me.
You might go,
"What the heck! You scaredy cat!"
But seriously. If you don't know what Ambience is, I'll explain.
Ambience is also called cave noises.
Have you ever gone mining and heard some supernatural, haunted type of cave sounds, like ghostly train whistles, bells, distant jet engines, singing, demonic roars, and screeching violins?
You have heard Ambience. Doesn't it freak you out?
However, Ambience is NOT an indicator of nearby ore, dungeons, or mobs. Usually, they come from dark caves that need to be lit, or monsters will spawn (if peaceful, probably just a dark cave.)
You've probably only heard a few. But here is all of them, and I'm sure some will just make you want to cower.
Don't blame me if these sounds make you get so scared you want to quit minecraft.
Now you're asking why this is in the Suggestions?
I want it REMOVED.
Ambience only occurs when there is dark space 20 blocks all around.
How should I know when I'm digging in a cave, and I hear Ambience? How am I supposed to find it? You'd think I'd really dig 20 blocks all away from me?
It doesn't help.
It scares me.
I like my ambiance. If anything were to be changed about it, I say add MORE sounds, maybe just a few less menacing atmospheric sounds. Also, I think it might be better if particular sounds could be played to indicate different events, like monster spawns or the proximity of dungeons, empty caves, or ore veins, and maybe at different volumes depending on the distance of said trigger or whether or not you have a clear path to it.
I like the sound of walking and pigs oinking and cows mooing and sheep baa-ing.
I also like the mining sounds.
I like all the sounds, especially the music, except Ambience.
And I like mob noises, even though they scare me.
Ambiance is creepier than getting sneak-attacked by a creeper, which is more of a scare than anything, but I think you know what I mean. If there was a clear indication of WHERE it was coming from, I'd be fine with it. But all you know is that there is something somewhere, not what where.
I just want the ability to turn them off, other than downloading an audio mod and deleting the ambiance sounds.

And why did the video have the mob sounds in it? Those aren't cave noises!
