Fire arrows in Minecraft: they burn brightly and light up a large room as they go, and do extra damage. Maybe set mobs on fire.
Maybe torch or flint and steel plus arrow for crafting, with the torch/flint&steel retrievable. Arrows that travel through fire light up.
Or add a new pitch item attainable from swamps (new biome) that must be added to an arrow to make fire arrows. That would be fun to collect.
(Swamp biome suggestion/digression: There could be a new peat-moss/bog block, which dropped pitch in a similar way to gravel and flint. Water lilies or cattails or something similar could be the plants, and the biome spawns around small patches of still water. If fish entities are ever fully added, catfish or eels could spawn around swamp-blocks adjacent to water. If salt and fresh water were added, it could change slightly due to salinity: salt has different plants and fish, different block texture and resources. A good place for a crocodile mob.)
When a fire arrow is retrieved, it is only an arrow: the fire goes out or the pitch burns up.
Don't you hate it when you enter a large cave and can't see where it ends? Lighting mobs on fire temporarily would be fun. Another craftable weapon requiring repeated harvesting would also be fun. A new biome would be great.

Retired Staff...which is why you would use flint and steel or torches. :smile.gif:
The swamp biome could be added as a modification to the biome (I think it's already called swamp) that generates small pools of water.
Ya, there already is a swamp biome but most don't know about it because it is so similar to other biomes.
