First there could be money or something, maybe just Gold.
I personally would love to have items that can only be crafted by specific people using some basic materials and a fee.
Like in villages, there would be an NPC, who, if talked to, would open a window with the required items to craft a certain item, and your inventory so you can check if you have them or not. If you have the items, you can click yes, and he will craft you the item for a fee in some item. Example: Upon talking to the NPC by right-clicking with your fist, a list of items appears, showing the items the NPC can craft. Each NPC will specialize in a certain class. Pirate Crafters would make pirate guns and knucklers, etc. Here's an example of what it might say when you choose an item.
"You want a Dragon Energy Sword? Just as a warning, you need to be at least LEVEL XXX to equip this item. I'm going to need 25 Dragon Scales (dropped by dragons), 15 Iron Ingots, 5 Orbs of Might (rare item dropped from bosses), 3 Reinforced Steel (smelt iron ingot with an item called Carbon (an item found while mining) and then craft two Steel Plates together), and 12500 Gold."
ALTERNATIVELY, INSTEAD OF HAVING ITEMS CRAFTED FOR YOU ALL THE TIME, YOU COULD SAVE YOUR MATERIALS AND THEN, WHEN YOU HAVE ENOUGH, YOU COULD GET THEM TO CRAFT YOU AN ADVANCED WORKBENCH FOR QUITE A BIT OF MONEY AND RESOURCES, WHICH HAS A 4X4 CRAFTING GRID WHICH ENABLES YOU TO CRAFT THE ADVANCED ITEMS THAT PREVIOUSLY, ONLY NPCS COULD CRAFT FOR YOU.
An Advanced Workbench might require..
8 Reinforced Steel
1 Mark of the Regular (obtained by having a crafting NPC of every specialty craft you an item, then going to the head of each town that you had an item made in, and getting their approval marks (Pirate Leader's Proof of Purchase, Thief Leader's Proof of Purchase, etc), which can be taken, once you have them all, to a special person who occasionally visits towns. He is the leader of the Craft Union, which travels the land in search of master crafters to recruit. If you show him all your proofs of purchase, he'll give you a Mark of the Regular.)
1 Moon Rock (craft a crystal of every type (there would be more, like Emerald, Topaz, etc.) at a special gem crafter to obtain a Moon Rock.
25000 Gold
After you obtain the Advanced Workbench from the person who crafted it for you, talk to the Craft Union leader and he'll give you a quest. Quests use the Achievement page. Craft 15 items using advanced workbench recipes. You cannot re-use items and you must never have crafted them before, except if you started the quest after you crafted using some of the recipes, those recipes will be added. So if you crafted Dragon Body Armor and a Dragon Helmet, you'd have 2/15 recipes already.
So once you do that, he will be impressed by your crafting skill and invite you to join the Craft Union. The Craft Union reveals 1 new recipe you've never used every day. Also, when you join the Craft Union, you can also obtain a Master Workbench for 50000 Gold from the leader. A Master Workbench can craft every item in the game, and has a HUGE 5X5 grid.
Some things you could craft exclusive to the Master Workbench are Dragon Saddles, Elemental Bullets, enhanced items (ex. Plain Thief Boots become Gold-Plated Thief Boots and give you a boost in damage or speed or something :tongue.gif:)
I personally think this would be cool. Opinions? I apologize for this wordwall but I feel it's worth reading.
Glad to see you agree with me, but I think you'd understand what I mean more if you read. It's not REALLY long anyway. About 1 page of a small book, and most of us have gone to school and read books with 200+ pages in them.
ERROR: Mind not capable of reading your trollness.
RESPONSE: Trolling. Don't do it.
Repeating what I do isn't all that whitty. Sorry. It's not trolling if I can give a reasonable response, which, mine is. This kind of stuff belongs out of minecraft, or, in mod. KaYtHxByE
Sorry dude im not liking this at all. It just reminds me way too much of what SO many other games do.
This is mineCRAFT we should be able to craft anything we want. you wanna make the super dragon badass sword? make it with a series of complicated recipes and put the results of each recipe into a single final recipe, or just make
5x5 crafting available somehow
