In my opinion, MC needs to keep better track of its time instead of a tool that only tells you if it's day or night. To craft a calendar, the crafting recipe, almost exactly similar to the map is:
= clock = paper
Once you have crafted it, you can place it on the wall like a painting. It would take up 1 block in space. On it, it would show the picture of a leaf. A lighter leaf represents spring, (explained below in seasons), a dark green leaf represents summer, an orange leaf represents fall, and a snowflake represents winter.
Seasons
Instead of biomes, replace them with the four common seasons, spring, summer, fall, and winter. Each season lasts 21 MC days, (3 MC weeks) and the entire MC year is 84 MC days, (12 MC weeks).
- Spring: Snow melts* from the past winter, flowers grow twice as fast than in summer. Ice breaks and animals return to the land. Leaves regrow and grow lighter green, (except for birch trees/pine trees*). The first day of spring is 1 minute shorter than the beginning of summer. During the season, the days slowly get longer leading up to the solstice. Rain and thunderstorms are more likely in spring.
- Summer: The summer solstice is a day that lasts 2 extra minutes. Grass grows at the same pace but flowers slow down in production. Animals reach their peak of population during the year. Leaves turn slightly darker, (except for birch trees/pine trees). The days slowly and gradually get shorter leading up to fall.
- Fall: The leaves on all trees, (except pine trees) turn either red, orange or yellow. Flowers slowly disappear, and animals become fewer by each day. The days continue to get shorter, yet (if apple trees are added) apple trees blossom with apples. Some of the grass disappears. In the last 3 days of fall, snow begins to fall and leaves disappear from the trees, (except pine trees).
- Winter: All the leaves are gone, (except on pine trees). the animals have disappear, the ice reforms, and snow blankets the land. On the solstice, the day is 4 minutes shorter than the summer solstice, making it roughly 2 minutes shorter than the average day. Snow storms are much more common.
*1: Except for blocks 40 blocks higher than sea level, (forming snow capped mountains all year).
*2: Pine trees never lose leaves throughout the year yet only grow on dirt 30 blocks above sea level.
I hope you like my ideas and please comment and/or give constructive criticism. :smile.gif:

No. Just no. Fail. :dry.gif:
How is the idea fail? :huh.gif:
Because winter biomes are meant to be winter biomes and non-winter biomes are meant to be non-winter biomes..
