I have an idea to improve the gameplay of Minecraft Survival Mode.
Add a feature where certain mobs will be more likely to spawn in certain areas. Like, for example, you could have a forest that spawns mostly zombies. Or you could have a desert that spawns mostly spiders.
This could make gameplay more interesting.
Also, there could be randomly generated areas like graveyards / burial grounds that have high concentrations of zombies. A "spiders den" deep in the forest with a high concentration of spiders.
I'm not sure if anything like this is going to be coming out in the Adventure Update, but I hope so. What do you think!?
I'm surprised different biomes don't already effect spawn rates... then again, there really isn't a big enough diversity of mobs for it to be noticeable.
Biome specific mobs are a good idea but we need more mobs for it to really work, unless you count passive mobs.
Pigs: Rainforest, Forest, Plains.
Cows: Plains
Chickens: Plains
Wolves: Tundra and Taiga
Squid: Water, anywhere
Spider: Desert and Forest (Desert ones should bring back the original brown spider skin)
The only flaw is that putting humanoid hostile mobs like the Skeleton, Zombie, and Creeper is specific Zones at this time would severely lower the danger of specific biomes. There could be variants though like Zombies in Savannah and Mummies in Desert.
