I've always found that making a home in Minecraft is one of the more entertaining activities that can be done. But there's a lot more that can be done to improve this. I think one such thing is the inclusion of more "household necessities" to make houses more useful and decisive.
By necessities I am referring to the basic items you most people have in their houses; things like workbenches, furnaces, paintings, chests, beds, water sources, and more. The inclusion of more items would greatly increase the use and fun of houses.
While a lot of the ideas I'm suggesting have been suggested before, I am bringing them up for more than a simple "I want this" reason.
Such items would be:
-Chairs:Resting on a chair will increase stamina quickly, if it is ever implemented into 1.8.
-Clocks:Placing a clock on the wall of a house is more decorative than helpful, but many more things apply to this rule. It also can be helpful in a basement/underground tunnel.
-Maps:Hanging a map would be a convenient way to see and share locations.
-Display cases:Glass cases that contain the 3d item model of a given item. They can be decorative or fill the "break in case of emergency" idea.
-Barrels:Convenient ways to store liquids in a confined space.
-Tables:Eating food while in the immediate vicinity of a table will increase health gained by 25%.
-Freezer:Powered on snow, this can freeze water and harden lava into obsidian.
Post your own.
Again, these have been suggested before but I'm doing it for the sake of making houses more interesting rather for just each individual idea.
depending on what wool u use beds diffrent colors?
like the crafting recipe is this:
the first wool is the pillow color, the second is the top half or the blanket, and the last is the bottom half.
so if i wanted a bed with blue blankets and a orange pillow i would craft this:

I would survive 28 days in a creeper apocalypse. GENERATION 24: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment. If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 99% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 1% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens
thx,and it would be kinda easy, just use something like the grass biome color thing,or the map thing,so beds still use only one ID

Awesome idea. Place able clocks on walls would be awesome. And the freezer could make ice, maybe obsidian. Maybe light switches to turn off torches. (i know it can be done with redstone torches but they aren't as bright)
