I'm positive plenty of this has been mentioned before :sad.gif: I'll try to offset that with some fresh thoughts though.
First is filling in whats already there: more uses for bowls, etching/carving designs (or tags) into blocks, smoothing or polishing stone, utilizing existing materials with existing recipes such as glass doors or cobblestone chests or sandstone staircases (just for looks, but Minecraft is all about looks), more uses for dyes like clothes and colored beds, a solid way to flag animals as "keepers" so they wont unload, ability to steer saddled piggies, wouldn't be bad to be able to hook and carry domestic creatures with the fishing pole for carrying them to the pen (or a cage would work too), wouldnt mind only having to have one map instead of many and also waypoint and zoom features (talk to Zan!).
I'd also like to see more done with wood, like chairs and tables and display cases or shelves, as well as each wood producing different colored furniture and wood planks. I think either the boat needs made tougher or a better quality boat needs released too..
At a point during digging a massive pit to the bedrock I realized I needed a paintball gun to mark far-away stone with for line-of-sight mining. Slimeball + Colored Dye = paintball. I'd want these to be non-lethal! A bow alone for ranged combat is fine by me.. (although what would a gunpowder grenade hurt??) And also some noticable constellations..
I'd really like some kind of stats to raise, and some intense accomplishments (mining 1000 diamonds or slaying 15000 mobs or mining 250k stone).
My two biggest suggestions, though, are these: 1/4th blocks or quarter blocks, and slopes. I'm sure at least slopes has been suggested and modded, but I'd really like to see 1/4th sized blocks, where 4 blocks placed in a cube equal the size of one normal block on Minecraft.. Those two things would amplify the accuracy and detail we could put into our constructions quite a bit. Also with quarter blocks you could make smaller pixel artwork and stuff like patterned floors and mosaic murals..
There are a million dream-world things I'd like, like randomized enemy size and colored torches and seasons and gigantic beasts and burrowing sandworms to battle, and raiders and pillagers and traders and 100 different crops and enemies and pieces of equipment, and cave-ins and tornadoes and meteor strikes and flooding and airships and lightsabers and kung fu and cronies :wink.gif: And a cameo appearance by Mr. T where he gives away promotional grenades too :wink.gif:
Its not professionally written! But there it is! If you love any one of these ideas then become its champion and sing its game-enhancing warsong from the highest peak!
Well, maybe not all that, but anyway.. Thanks for enduring my ramble :|
I've failed miserably there, sadly :sad.gif: I just get to rambling, and apologize as well :ohmy.gif: even if I had to narrow it down I'd still want it to be about quarter blocks and slopes though, so I'd still fail :sad.gif: I'm realizing now too that quarter blocks would keep to the pure cubalitic squarenessence of Minecraft but slopes would definately change the look of it a bit, plus the water physics wouldnt enjoy slopes much as they are :| And realized that quarter blocks really means increasing the detail of the minecraft grid four times to accomodate the smaller cubes :| would that mean four times the cpu usage too? :|

You can download the Eighth Block mod to get extra detail.

Hypothetical: You read a thread in the Suggestions forum. You suddenly realize you've seen the idea before. Maybe it's a duplicate? No. Maybe it's just you? No. Maybe it's been done already? Very likely: Click here if there's a mod for that.

I think so.
