Hello fellow minecraftians. Today, my idea is an in game recorder. Why? I bet some of you have struggled on finding a free recorder with no lag. Also, other games have it. Like this game I used to play called ROBLOX. A few weeks before I left for Minecraft, they added a new feature - an in game recorder. I used this to make several videos, on the same computer I have now, and had no lag, and a really nice quality for a game like that. Now, I want to start a Minecraft Let's Play, and some tutorials, but, one thing. All the recorders I've tried either don't have audio, or lag too much. What I am suggesting, is an in game recorder. The hotkey to start/stop recording could be something like "Home" or "End" or any other key that is not used by Minecraft already. I love the game, and hopefully this could come out in a future update (like 1.9, because I've seen your really busy with 1.8), or maybe in the final release of Minecraft. Press F2. See how much lag is caused when the game takes a one-frame screenshot. Imagine that for every second of you recording.
In my opinion, just download some 3rd-party recording software, which people will probably tell you about soon.
But the thing is, is that not only are you capturing the one frame shot, you are also saving it to the screenshots folder at the same time. That's why it lags a bit. If filming were to ever be implemented, it would record it, but only save it when the recording is finished.

Exactly. That's why the other game's recorder didn't lag. It wasn't saving and making at the same time. This may take a (bit) longer, but I've got a pretty good speed on transferring a 5 gb file from my computer to my flash drive. A ten minute video is about 5 gigs, so about the same.

Actually, you are saving and making it at the same time. It takes the sound, the frames, and muxes it together in real time. It does this for any recording software because it has to store the data somewhere while it combines them. This is either a temporary file you can see or a temporary file stored in a way you can't see it until the recording stops.
Anyone who has fraps can confirm this. Open the folder your videos save to, start recording in Fraps, and you will see a file appear in the folder your videos save in. You can't do anything with the file, opening it will just give an error in your video playback program.
So it always HAS to be saved somewhere, even if you can't see it.
The real reason to not have an ingame recorder is because it will draw from the default 512 mb of RAM allocated to Minecraft, when a 3rd party will use any RAM not being used. Therefore 3rd party nearly always records in higher quality.
