A highquality one that records te blocks as blocks and not video footage.
This should make for better quality footage.

Big problem with that. Look how long it takes to record one screenshot when you press f2. If you expect it to run at any proper speed, a lot of graphic quality will have to be compromised.
Especially because of the fact that the only *useful* way java can record video is by running a sound recorder and then taking as many screenshots as possible then muxing them together. Sure that is in effect how all video recorders do it but Java isn't as streamlined. Think of it this way, would you rather have...
A: A recorder that HAS to use the same 512 mb of RAM allocated by default to Minecraft while Minecraft is running and loading things at the same time
OR
B: A recorder that can use any RAM not Allocated to Minecraft or other processes and therefore is not using the same resources as the game.
The answer should be obvious.

or just FRAPS, if you have a mic, it can record that too, all you need is to manually select it.
