Heya, I have some ideas I'd like to share! here goes!
Warpstone (block)
Similar to Redstone, Warpstone can work as a detection mechanism or a power supply. Mined from
Warpstone blocks (like redstone blocks), this block is more of a 'wireless' power supply/detection tool.
It's significantly rarer to find and has a pretty, blue-ish look. When a player has Warpstone to place, they can place
it on the faces of a block, looking much like what redstone looks like when it's placed on the floor and stems in four directions.
At this point, it will give off a similar particle effect to redstone, although being blue and the particles will float like a detection beam for a few blocks in the general direction. This serves as a detection tool and if something passes through the particle beam from the warpstone, a specific radius of blocks will become active (I'd like feedback as to which and how many blocks will be stimulated by the detection)
It can also be, I'm not sure why, but the beam can be extended with Warpstone Nodes, which are highly identical to redstone torches, although being a pretty blue. When beams pass through them, the beams are amplified to a greater distance. The nodes can also be used to angle the beam into different directions, depending on where the places was facing when they placed the Warpstone Node. (Similar to positioning of repeaters).
It should be noted that the nodes can potentially be placed on blocks vertically, but I'm unsure of upside-down nodes.
Warpstone can be used as a laser-grid like detection and can be slightly less obvious than pressure plate traps, and can make places look a little nicer/more modern.
Block of Rusted Iron
This block can be considered slightly cosmetic, but it also has it's own ability. It can be crafted by placing a bucket of water over a block of iron. Rusted iron blocks can be used for looks for places like abandoned bases, old valley constructs, and the list could go on. Being unstable and dangerous, players take additional fall-damage when landing on rusted blocks and the rusted blocks can become 'gravity' blocks like sand and gravel, and the block will fall taking the player with it. It makes an extra danger for when players explore pre-built areas or challenges!
Meteorite Shard
Meteorite Shards are beautiful, bright pieces that can be found by mining fallen meteors. Meteors are an extremely rare occurrence and perhaps may not remain in their crater for long. Meteors can crash and (instantly kill whoever they land on, should they be unlucky enough). Only able to be mined by a diamond pickaxe, players can gather a random amount of shards up to 16! The shards work like diamonds do when used to craft tools/gear and can be used to make a higher tier than diamond! Seek out fallen Meteors to craft perhaps the most powerful tools yet!
Possible crafts from Meteorite Shards:
- Basic tools (Pickaxe, Axe, Shovel, Hoe)
- Weapons and armor (Sword, Armor)
- Meteorite Bow (Powerful ranged weapon, requires arrows crafted with Meteorite shards instead of feathers)
While these are all powerful and whatnot, Meteorite is supposed to be unbelievably rare. As rare as finding a creeper struck by lightning. Rare enough to make Jellies jealous!
Gemstones & imbuing
Gemstones can bring a large variety of new ideas to Minecraft. Naturally in our world, there are hundreds of different gems, each with subtle varieties and beautiful colors and formations. We don't need to add all of them to Minecraft, but adding them is only logical since we can dig so deep into the ground and they can be used for a bunch of different things.
Here's a list of some of the benefits we can gain from Gemstones:
- A new form of 'treasure' and 'rewards' for players wanting to create a decent reward for challenges and courses rather than just Gold/Diamond blocks.
- A new way to 'pretty up' houses, buildings and especially the abundant amount of castles out there. Many people make castles. Is it not fitting to allow them to add gemstones and gemstone blocks to beautify their castles' treasure rooms or thronerooms?
- Offers the ability to 'imbue' gemstones' power to other objects or constructs. (Example being adding a ruby to your pickaxe, which gives it a durability boost, or adding an onyx to any of your tools to give them a chance of creating twice the drops out of breaking a block.
Gemstones can be found deep within the underground and will be found as ore blocks first, where they will need to be refined into gemstones (much like how diamond looks). This can be done by making a chisel and a hammer (like flint and stone) by using a stone above a stick and a stick above wood (if that isn't taken). using them on gemstones will facet them nicely, but have a chance of breaking them!
Some ideas for gemstone abilities:
Emerald - 'Healing Stone': adding to armor adds small, passive health-regenerating ability. Is very minor but works quicker if more armor pieces are imbued with Emeralds.
Ruby - 'Power Stone': imbuing Rubies with tools grants them a slight chance of doubling the items found when breaking blocks. Using it with a weapon adds to it's power and of course, damage.
Sapphire - 'Protection Stone': Can also be imbued with armor, giving it more durability and helps protect Health, letting players lose less health per armor lost.
Onyx - 'Endurance Stone': Anything it is applied to will last much longer! It's best used with stuff that already has good durability like Diamond Tools.
Opal - 'Stone of Luck': Can be imbued into crafting bench or furnaces to give them the chance of creating double of whatever you crafted. The power of these will fade after a large amount of uses and will revert the bench/furnace back to normal. They can also be used on Weapons to offer a "critical hit" ability, with a small chance of allowing the player to deal double damage.
Garnet - 'Chaotic Stone': When imbued with a weapon, grants a small chance to set targets alight when striking them. If used on a tool, it grants them a small ability to destroy a few surrounding blocks with each strike and should only be used for power-digging/power-cutting/power-mining.
More to come! Some others can only be used with other objects I shall suggest below.
BRB soon!
Hypothetical: You read a thread in the Suggestions forum. You suddenly realize you've seen the idea before. Maybe it's a duplicate? No. Maybe it's just you? No. Maybe it's been done already? Very likely: Click here if there's a mod for that.
Please read the rules. You fleshed these out pretty nicely, but each one needs to be in it's own thread.

Ah, I shall. Although I thought it'd be spam-ish if I made a thread per idea I have! I totally have tons more, but when I get back I shall edit the rest out and give them their own threads, with a much larger explanation.
The only problem I have here is, the ideas work with eachother and may only be understood if they read the other threads. This causes confusion :sad.gif:

Well you don't have to cut each gem into it's own thread. Just divide it up by section.
I like the Rusted Block though, Pressure sensitive gravity block.

I like the rusted iron. The warpstone seems a bit redundant. Not a fan of the gems.

That was kind of my thoughts too. I already support a wireless sensor that is a tad better thought out, I dislike the idea of more gems, and HATE anything to do with space.
