Imagine you are walking in the dark, armed with lots of weapons, suddenly, you heard a "twang" sound and you saw a pack of skeles coming your way, you decide to walk back while firing arrows at them, then suddenly, a lot of ssssSSSSSssss hisses behind you and you saw creepers, they exploded and zombies fall on you.
So lets make that real in minecraft.
My idea:
I was thinking about what if minecraft have a lot of mobs that band together and create a defensive fort, for example they group together, and when you come they all ambush you instead of the usual one to two mobs. So I was thinking, how about every 5 seconds, and if there is a possible location, there will be a 1% chance 10 zombies, 6 skeletons and 4 creepers will spawn around the same location, they will then try to find places to ambush people or so.
However, they might wander off, so maybe a new feature where mobs that spawn in packs will stay together. For example, mob A spawned together with mob B and C, they will call themselves a mob pack and will not wander far from each other.
Now for the defensive mobs part, if you encounter one of these groups, you will know that there are 20 mobs to kill, so you have to kill 20 mobs before you are safe in that area. So how about different number of mobs each time. I propose that if this is possible, everytime a mob and another come within 5 blocks of each other, there will be a 60% chance that they would call themselves a mob pack and exsisting mob packs between the two would band together, and 40% chance that they would not band together and instead continue to wander around. That way, not only the will defensive mobs band together, but your chances of seeing mob gangs will be higher and being out in the night will be more dangerous.
I know the main idea is not quite good, but I really hope that the mob improvements can be added so that it is more dangerous to fight in the night, not that it is required as there is a bed now.
