So, I have an idea to prevent people from stealing items in your chests
when you place it, it will ask you to create a password in a menu similar to signs.
right clicking on a password chest will ask you to type a password
Appearance: like a chest, but silver
Blast Resistance: can survive maybe 3 tnt
Capacity: 27 (54 for double chests)
cannot be mined
The chest menu has a button that "mines" the chest if you wish to move the chest elsewhere
So... What if a griefer decided to place 50 locked chests around your house blocking your exits. What if the griefer went all out and got 3 stacks of lchests and spammed them around key locations like... say... surrounding your locked chest?
Maybe you logged out around your bed like you always do only to find out that the griefer surrounded your bed with lchests. You are... well... you're looking for the lube to make it easier, k?
Lotsa problems with this suggestion though the intention is good.
This has already been suggested and rejected hundreds of times. It is a horrible idea and should never be added. You want your chests protected? Hide them somewhere. Or build on a server with lwc (or whatever it's called)

And to top it all off, already suggested.

NO. Don't click New Thread. Read the rules. I don't give a damn how long or boring they are. If you do not, you will be subject to massive flaming and criticism by yours truly.
Okay it's already suggested. Who really cares. Since when does the internet have limited space? I understand he was too lazy to search and read what the outcome of this suggestion was but just give him the answers.
FIRST off for you to say something shouldnt be implemented because "griefers" is one of the lamest excuses/reasons. Griefers gonna grief. You say "what if they <insert possible trolling situation>" Its not that big of a deal. Most servers have active moderators and they would have the ability to remove said obstructions. Personally I think someone breaking your bed and putting it back is much worse then a "chest infront of your door" lol idk thats just me.
HOWEVER I dont support this idea. Part of the adventure and reward of this game is the ability to keep it. Without risk there's no reward. Without reward why even bother playing it? Dont like people touching your stuff? Either find a really nice candid hiding place or play single player =\

Anyway, I like the idea, but it seems like too easy of a solution. If you have something you want protected, you'll have to get creative about it. Either hide it, booby trap it, or something else.

EDIT
Please lets not turn this into a derail flame fest.
Actually, it does.

and I qoute "The problem isn't one of storage, but of location, the so-called IP addresses"
Im not a computer science major or network technician but each page doesnt have its own ip-address? Rather just the host website itself?
Moving on tho, I do agree with what you said about your opinion on this topic.
