Caves are fun, but they don't remind me of real caves.
The biggest update would be purely cosmetic, but I think they make a cave a cave. Stalactites! They are those rock formations that resemble icicles and hang down from the ceiling of caves. What if Minecraft had those made of stone? Also, what are their opposites called? They come up from the ground. Plus, in real life, stalactites and their opposite can sometimes be connected to creates cool formations. I'd love to see those in Minecraft.
Caves also need bats. I'm not going to get into detail on a new mob, but they would sleep on the ceiling in groups until you place a torch. They will wake up and attack you, and possibly knocking you down into a pit, a waterfall, or lava. Pesky creatures...

I am meowing at my lung’s fullest. I would even argue that the echo that reverberates back to me is the voice of someone I know…
my idea is standard larger caves, were not guna be adding in limestone so stalagmites and the such wont exist :biggrin.gif:
if you bad standard large caves with entrances you could like have a cave which you can sail your boat through or ones that will give massive echo quality would be awesome, were not going all realistic so there wont be things like long shore drift whirl pools when you make a hole or a natural gass filled sink hole :F
Stalactites are formed by the deposition of calcium carbonate and other minerals, which is precipitated from mineralized water solutions. Limestone is the chief form of calcium carbonate rock which is dissolved by water that contains carbon dioxide, forming a calcium bicarbonate solution in underground caverns.

No.
Also, these have been suggested. And does a conic shape really fit in with a bunch of cubes?
[quote=Badgerz]You have to keep in mind that people are stupid.
[quote=Catelite]Just because you don't understand how something works, doesn't make it broken or pointless. >_<
What is your idea of a better cave?
Nice ideas, but I had asked Bukkit123.
We don't need limestone for stalactites.
Limetone is required to make stalactites.
Realism plawks?
Yes you do.
