1.8 being more than likely combat orientated will force us to use our sword even more then we have ever needed to before, while im sure that normal weapons will serve us just fine i suggest that within the chests, held deep in these dungeons that we will be risking everything to explore, are rewarded with more then materials or utility items. i suggest that we find verients on other items that have some different appearance or added effect. For example an unbreakable iron sword, not the the extent that it never deteriorates but a sword that can be repaired and since it will be relativly difficult to obtain it will only become unusable once it reaches the point at which other swords would break, and waits to be rapaired. Another thing that would be nice to find would be an enchanted sword that has had its range amplified by a small amount or even a sored with a larger sideways swing to be able to hit multiple enemys in a single swing. This is what should be found it chests in dungeon not a bucket or a clock i want a weapon with a unique skin or name with added effects, not the the point that your an unstopable killing machine but a small alteration to the gameplay.

I think this would be hard to code... also, we don't know what 1.8 will do because it's not out yet.
