I'm not sure if I'm the only one that was even slightly disappointed at the change of TNT... Maybe I am, but I have an alternative!
Revert TNT to its former properties (activated by punching, fire, RS, etc), and introduce a new explosive block: C-4. C-4 would have the properties of the current TNT (only activated by fire or redstone*), and would be crafted like this:
Where = Clay balls.
Not only is this a bit more realistic (TNT is very unstable, where C4 is much safer), but it makes you work a little for a bit of peace of mind... It also adds another use for clay.
*In real life, C-4 doesn't detonate when exposed to flames, but whatever...
Hypothetical: You read a thread in the Suggestions forum. You suddenly realize you've seen the idea before. Maybe it's a duplicate? No. Maybe it's just you? No. Maybe it's been done already? Very likely: Click here if there's a mod for that.
NO. Don't click New Thread. Read the rules. I don't give a damn how long or boring they are. If you do not, you will be subject to massive flaming and criticism by yours truly.
I never said it was realistic, I said it was more-so, and that there was actual reason behind the idea.
And, perhaps realism isn't the best argument in a videogame, but even still.
How does punching it to make it explode make it more realistic?

It isn't more-so. There is no reason behind it.
There is, however, both reason and realism in setting fire to explosives to detonate them.
I never meant in the sense of "punching it to make it explode". Merely the fact that TNT would be less stable, and easier to set off compared to C-4.
