Well I've played with pistons for a while, since before the sticky pistons. And once they got fully integrated with the game I thought it was really cool, I've been playing with them making traps and cool doors. and in the process i though of ways to make them better.
Piston Extension
I've always thought since before the official 1.7 piston release it would be cool if we had a way to extend the piston to make it pop out 2 blocks instead of just 1. and I came up with a 2 conceivable ways.
Just like a double chest putting a piston behind a piston makes it extend 2 squares. simple. but I have a feeling this might get in the way of some piston creations for some reason.
So i also came up with a new crafting recipe for an extender block.
Instead of using 3 planks this just uses a stick to extend a piston in front of it. and maybe it could also serve as a big red stone poking device without a piston.
Explosive Pistons
No I don't mean pistons that explode like TNT, one of the biggest things I miss from the pistons mod was the ability to launch things. like sand and me (I made elevators with them.) so I got to brainstorming on a compromise. I mean mojang made them without launching abilities for a reason. So i present to you a recipe just like sticky pistons.
By adding gun powder to the the piston it would somehow make the pistons stronger. (and maybe instead of pushing things like dirt and stone 1 square it could push 2 - 3 squares because it's stronger) This would restore the launching effects of the piston, I don't know what a good height for launching would bee though, doesn't matter as long as we can now launch things a reasonable distance.
Well that's all I got.
Thanks for reading this post.
I like the explosive pistons, but not really the piston extension. It just doesn't really seem useful, seeing as we can already do the same thing just slightly differently.
And they removed the launching ability for a reason. Why would they want to add it?
Care to tell me what that reason was? I'm not sure, but I think it was because it was over powered. Nerfing it a bit, as well as having to make a special piston for it, could make it work.

Yes we can do it, But I think it would be fairly useful.

i'm not quite sure, but it was pretty high. i think about 4 - 5 blocks high would be good.
Yes we can do it, But I think it would be fairly useful.
