I heard that Notch was looking for a way to make Powered Minecarts more useful. I suggest that if you place a powered minecart on a cycle of powered rails. The friction of the minecart will cause the furnace in the minecart to slowly, but efficiently, cook and smelt items, without coal, charcoal, or lava. It would be significantly slower than cooking and smelting on a furnace, but it does not require fuel. You also have to mine for redstone for the powered rails. So, what do you think?
I find it funny that 26 people viewed this, but didn't reply. :laugh.gif:
Well that is just because the idea is bad (imo)
You know how much friction it takes to heat metal enough to cook an egg for 10 seconds? A **** ton. Like... a jet crash landing in a field full of steel wool amount.
Also, fuel is already one of the easiest things to find.

Eh, no. Powered Minecarts should gain huge momentum upon hitting powered trails. Still underpowered, but at least it would have a use again.
