One day when I was playing on my world, I made a redstone repeater. I thought about how you could make a never ending cycle, and it reminded me of a clock. Then, I got an idea. I searched up the forums, and got nothing, so I present clocks for redstone!
It's basically a change that allows the player to put a clock down, put a redstone wire on it, and, at specific time, power up. You could set the clocks power-on time by right clicking it. It would open a menu and you could check the box for the time slot (maybe mid-day, sunset, etc.)when the clock would be powered.
Here's an example:
- You put a clock down
- You put redstone next to it and connect it to a block of TNT
- You right-click on the clock and check the box for midnight
- At midnight, the clock powers on and the TNT is activated
- BOOM!
This could make effective mob traps that would kill mostly hostile mobs.
With a check - uncheck system, you could set the power from midday to moonrise, or anything like that.
This suggestion could make great races, as at a certain time, TNT would go off and destroy the prize.
I hope that this can be implemented into the game in the future to further increase the capacity of redstone builds and whatnot.
Definitely need a clock block (lol), as well as a clock generator block.

Im sure you can make a redstone creation of some sort that would do that already without a clock, you just need to know a lot of ways to use redstone.
I don't know, unless you have an enclosed area where mobs only spawn at night, and there are pressure plates everywhere, there's not much to power redstone at a specific time. Even the idea I just typed is really limited.
