Also, you made the poll so that you have the option to both agree and disagree, you might want to change it.
well, the purpose is to automatically get rid of those bouncing items. thus moving the data into the blocks as variables and offloading graphical processing to a more long term storage option. Also, it would insure that drops don't just magically vanish out of existence... Did I mention, perhaps burring items would become something interesting to do... I mean, the possibilities are pretty vast, but the basic idea is fully understood in my op. I think Notch is at liberty do what he pleases with the core concept. In fact I'd rather he did.
Also, the option to choose both was done on purpose. Instead of an 'undecided' option. Despite popular opinion, it is possible to agree & disagree.
You die, you lose your items. Where is the challenge of rushing to get your items back if this is implemented.
Maybe they turn into their respective materials and move into the proper layers as normal resources??? Biodegradable things like leather & paper would turn into dirt and cover other items...
It is only a challenge to get back if you are trying not to accept the fact that you just failed at minecraft... otherwise its just a hassle...I think its more of a relief. You have a good point, but you should go somewhere other than the sacrilege ... You kind of inhibit your ability to come up with any good suggestions by asking me questions instead of questioning your own intentions. My only response is that the specifics are debatable. Perhaps you have an idea other than the statuesque?
What about FINDING other players items in the ground on SMP??? That would be more rewarding... I think certain items should have certain affects on the location.

I am really confused right now.

Okay sacrilege? Clarify please.

I ask questions because it's nice than saying "THERE IS NO CHALLENGE YOU NOOB!!!! YOU WANT MINECRAFT TO BE ALL GAY AND WEAK LIKE YOU?!?!"
I also kinda like stating my answers in questions form :smile.gif:
I also ask questions because I genuinely want the OP to come up with ideas and fixes to the original idea. I don't have
all the right answers, but I might have some right questions.
Plus I don't really like the basis of this idea that items should stay. My suggestion is keep item disposal as it is right now.
Because of that, the specifics don't matter to me, and I have no interest in debating them.
Perhaps you have an idea other than the statuesque?
Of course the specifics are debatable.
Seeing this as a community forum, I'm asking. What do you think?
