You’re searching and searching for a dungeon, and you finally find one. You fight through the monsters and get to the chest. You happily open it and see gunpowder, iron, and string, just everyday items that you have plenty of.
Dungeons are rare themselves. When you find one don't you want it to be rewarding? Dungeons should have rare items in the chests. Items that are hard to find or that are impossible to get anywhere else.
Items that should be in chests
Mossy Cobblestone pickaxe- This tool would have a 20% chance of being in a chest. This wouldn't be craftable tool. It would have really low durability. The mossy cobblestone pick would take out dungeon spawners really fast. But it would only be able to break two spawners.
Sun Shards- This would not be a new ore. This would only be found in chests. Sun shards could be placed on the ground. They emit a low light, the same as a redstone torch. When you put sun shards in every square in a crafting bench, you get a Sunstone. When you or any mob touches the block you’ll get set on fire! Redstone and pressure plates could be used together to make traps. Sun shards would have a 45% chance of being in a chest.
Apple tree saplings- Apples are rare in dungeons. They only heal two hearts. Whats the joy of finding one? Apples should be farmable, when you find a sapling that can only be found in dungeons. When you plant the sapling you have a 50% chance of the tree dropping another sapling. When you break a leaf you have a 50% chance of getting an apple. Apple tree saplings would have a 60% chance of being in a chest.
Items that should be more or less common
String, gunpowder, iron, and other everyday items in chest should still be able to be found but not as common sense they are easily obtainable. Apples should still be in chests just more common. Buckets should hold water or lava when found so it's more rewarding.

I don't like the Sun Shards or Mossy pick. They seem... Pointless. Most veteran players don't destroy a mob spawner, opting to make a mob trap from it instead. Also, once you drop a few torches you have plenty of time to break it if you want to, so we don't need an item to break it faster.
The Sun Shards just don't seem needed. I can make a better trap using just pistons than a fire trap.
I like the sapling though. There shouldn't be a chance for it to drop another sapling though by breaking leaves or planting it though, but maybe like a .05% chance that it will spawn a sapling instead of an apple.

Some of your stuff is kinda cool like the sun shard and all that but they shouldn't remove the gun powder iron ect cause there still very useful cause you might get more then just 4 in a chest. 1 you have to kill creepers to get gun powder. 2 you don't always get gun powder when you kill them. 3 iron you have to dig up and then have to waste coal which can be very rare in certain biomes of land. 4 in my world i can't find more then 2 spiders in a minecraft week! so i can't get spider webs so far i only got 1 and i made this world on may 30th! you got some cool ideas but mossy cobble stone pick uhhhh wasn't a great idea but they should make the dungeon spawners a bit easier to destroy and maybe be able to pick them up.

mabey a new item like a flute would be nice. it will stun mobs for 15 seconds(probably just enough time to get out) i think most of u will say tht sounds stupid, but it would be kind of helpful. chance of getting it is 35% and has a medium sized durability. plz reply to this and say wat u think of it, i dont care wat u say about it so u can say it sucks and stuff like tht.
NO! NOT MOSSY TOOLS AGAIN! No to mossy cobblestone tools. They have been suggested before. Not like this, but the way you suggested is pointless. Smack down a torch or two and you have all the time in the world to break that spawner. Sun shards sound like the commonly suggested fire-trap, which is now already possible with pistons. And apple trees have been suggested already.
