I thought the game would be better if there were two new types of blocks/items, the placers and the destroyers. They'd change radically the way looting systems works:
-Placer: This block looks just like a dispenser, but with 2 differences: first, instead of having a storage where you can put the items, it is open in the top part; then, items that fall into the entrance will be used as if they were put into a dispenser. The second difference is that, instead of just dropping the items, the Placer, as the name says, would place then; for example, if a sand (item) drop into the entrance, it would place a sand block, that could be posterior moved with pistons. The Placer could be combined with a chest, a furnace, a minecart chest or a powered minecart too; in these cases, instead of placing the items as blocks, it would place then inside the chest, furnace or minecart.
Recipe suggestion ( = Bow, = Nothing):
-Destroyer: This is a secondary idea that could be used with the Placer for lots of new proposes: the Destroyer. As the name says, it would be something that destroy any block and convert it into an item. This is trickier to make, because it has to be less effective than normal mining, otherwise people would just use the destroyer for mining. I think, in its recipe, it would be necessary to have a pickaxe or other tool, and it would have durability (inferior to normal). The destroyer could be used in long water transportation systems to prevent that the item disappears after five minutes: you place it with a Placer, move it with a piston and destroy it with a destroyer, allowing it to go further in water.
For the placer, I suggest looking at this suggestion. Other than the fact that it doesn't place blocks, it's basically the same idea.
For the destroyer, it doesn't really have that big of a purpose. From what I remember from another thread, people could very easily create an infinite cobblestone generator, and basically get infinite cobblestone. This could be considered very OP as people could just stand around, getting all the cobblestone they want, and they could build castles without mining a single block.

I am the bone of my sword
Steel is my body, and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
Unknown to death, Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet, those hands will never hold anything
So as I pray, Unlimited Blade Works
As i said, it would be very complicated to make the Destroyer so it became ineficient to make the infinite cobblestone generator and other things too. About the Placer, thanks for the suggestions, I'm already checking both the Allocator and Buildcraft.
But what people can do is that they can set up a lot of infinite cobble generators each equipped with a destroyer. Then they basically get plenty of cobblestone, with no work. Even if they only got a hundred uses, setting it up with 10 destroyers get's you 1000 cobblestone.
