What I was thinking is that, why can't (some if possible) of the blocks in Minecraft act like the pistons when you place them?
Say you cut down a tree and you don't want the wood blocks to be placed normally but on its side top/bottom facing you? Like, traditional log cabin style? I know this won't really add much to the game but with some of the blocks, it just gets boring seeing them facing the same way while building, in my opinion.
There's really not much to elaborate on since it seems simple enough but feedback is appreciated.
Wouldn't take long to code (I don't think) and would be kinda nice. Not necessary at all, but nice.
Support.

It would make building easier. Might get a little annoying though. Like if I want to make logs face upright against a wall.
would be a bit hard if you wanted a block facing up but can't above or below it
I don't get what you're asking?
You mean placing a block above a block? Just jump on it and stack it like that. The top'll be direction orientated so if you were facing a general direction the top will face you, like how the pistons act.

Yes, please. Though I can't think of any blocks this would be good for besides logs and possibly TNT (for aesthetics). Half blocks would be nice, but I'm still hoping for a vanilla eighth block implementation.
its not that much needed... and also kind of pointless because some of the blocks use the same textures for all sides , so this would only work for some of them , not really sure how much but not for all...

It's just a little thing that isn't really needed in the game, more like one of those little changes that can make the game a tiny bit better, or a tiny bit worse. Not hoping this gets into Minecraft, it's just a a simple idea that doesn't do much but could please some of the players of the game.

Either way, yes, do want.
That's the point! :smile.gif:
