Well now we have pistons I think there should be more " official" uses for them.
I think it would be a good idea to be able to compress sand into sand stone and gravel into stone or cobble.
It would work by place a piston down and on the third block in front/below/ above it place a block that the piston can not move like obsidian.
Here is what would be a basic horizontal setup:
Then you would put 2 blocks of sand or gravel in between the piston and back stop block, obsidian in this case:
Then you would activate the piston and it would compress to two blocks of sand into sand stone or if you use gravel into stone.
no that would ruin too many uses of the piston, there are times when they need to be unable to push a block etc.. though theoretically with a repeater circuit and water/lava pouring together you can make a cobblestone producer :tongue.gif:...

I think this is a good idea.... I have been mining sand to make sandstone... honestly an invention like this would make my like easier.
