this idea is for all those people, who find the world generates too borringly for them. the idea is to be able to change slightly the generation settings, so lets say you prefer a map where it has plenty of small to medium sized islands and the occasional big one small ranging from .05-2km in area medium 4-6km area and big having a maximum of 10 but the 15 is a rare possibility, the great thing is that whith customisations, we can reduce the continential sized lands which i personaly hate. now there would be multiple setings
-average size of land
-amount of lakes
-size of lakes
-average amount of islands per 10 sqare kilometers
-rarity of deserst
-comonity of minerals
-depth of oceans
-size of chunks*
-flatness of terrain
-rarity of oceans
-abundancy of trees
these would be just a small a amount now you notice i put size of chunks. some people would preffer bigger chunks So would i of ccourse this part ould be least likely added but with settings we would also have presets like islandeas water drought and such for the first timers or non advanced users
World generation settings wouldn't be needed if the world generator actually made sense - larger biomes, improved borders, larger bodies of water, etc.
But I guess I support world generation settings, though. There are utilities that generate worlds for you, though, which is enough in my opinion.

ya there are but they can only generate a part of it and then eventualy minecraft takes over and sometimes that looks weird while the options will be more constant and they can be edited per world too
