When I say 'Toggleable' I mean Notch needs to make it where a player can right click a piston and make it extend or stay not extended. That way we are not limited by what we can make. the reason for this is to help make Traps more effective space wise. Today I was experimenting with pistons as I'm sure most of you did. I found that I cannot make a drop down wall and at the same time make a dispenser shoot arrows. This is because the piston will always start in the default position of "Off" or not extended. I would like to make it extendable by right clicking so it will make making traps for people such as greifers or thieves online more of a viable option in a small space. Also so it is subtle. It's not wise to have a giant 20x20 box outside your house to hold redstone wiring for 2 different things. When you could just simply make the pistons toggleable.

They ARE toggleable. Right clicking them would be no different than putting a lever next to them.

I'm almost 100% positive that this have been suggested before but i'll suggest it again anyways
Sure they're toggle-able, but not in a convenient way.
You have to build an inverter if you want any kind of "push button" piston activation, and that takes up alot of space keeping you from building nice and compact designs.
By toggleable he means the ability to select whether it extends with a redstone signal or retracts with a redstone signal.
That could be kind of neat. Although it would mess up challenge maps and security systems if people could adjust pistons by hand.
Which is exactly what an inverter does.

NO. Don't click New Thread. Read the rules. I don't give a damn how long or boring they are. If you do not, you will be subject to massive flaming and criticism by yours truly.
While also removing the need for an inverter and compressing it down to the click of a button.
If we're going to do this we may as well make every item toggle-able and remove the idea of inverters in the first place.

Would be neat for sure. But how would you toggle it?
