Hi. I was really impressed with how pistons work in this new version and was really interested to play with them and see some of the things people could build with them.. One thing I've noticed already that could be improved would be the ability to right click a piston with maybe 4-5 modes (similar to redstone delays). Each mode with make the piston push one additional block.
Examples: = The piston block itself. = The part of the piston that does the actual pushing. = The block that is being pushed.
Mode 1:
Activate the piston and you get:
Mode 2:
Activate the piston and you get:
and so on. This would be really useful and improve functionality a lot by allowing you to push pistons different amounts, helping with making elevators, retractable stairs and walls, etc without having to use miles of redstone to make it work properly.
Too over-powering in my opinion. Useful, no doubt, but there would have to be a strict limit on how far it could go out.

NO. Don't click New Thread. Read the rules. I don't give a damn how long or boring they are. If you do not, you will be subject to massive flaming and criticism by yours truly.
So it would extend one, two, or three (I think that should be the max) blocks? I like it. I remember something like this getting shot down earlier because right clicking changed the orientation of the mod pistons
You could just have a system of multiple pistons to add more blocks to the total stack. Like for an elevator, you have one piston pushing up and another right next to it pushing blocks (sand/gravel would work best) onto the piston that pushes up.
Set up your mechanisms to keep pushing in an alternating fashion, and you have yourself an elevator... Though, coming down is a bit more difficult XD

Nice update all the same. Keep it up Notch.
